Ken Goldman

Ken GoldmanBorn in Illinois, Ken Goldman trained at the New York Studio School, The National Academy of Design and the Art Students League. Privately he has studied with Wolf Kahn, Vern Wilson and Liane Collot D’Herbois, in both America and Europe. A recipient of numerous awards, he has exhibited widely in group shows and many one-man shows in galleries and museums in Holland, Paris, Mexico, New York, Boston, Washington D.C. and San Diego. His work is represented in numerous collections throughout America and Europe. In California, several of his pieces may be found at The M.O.A. Center Museum in Long Beach, as well as the San Diego Museum of Fine Art and The San Diego Museum of Natural History in San Diego. He is also part of the permanent collection of the Hickory Museum of Fine Art (James Goode Collection of Self Portraits of American Artists) in North Carolina.

Ken Goldman’s art has taken a variety of forms, including realistic oil and watercolor paintings, pastels, wood carvings, veiled watercolors, Oriental (Sumi-e) watercolors and murals. A resident of San Diego, California since 1970, Ken is a popular instructor at the Athenaeum School of the Arts in La Jolla, teaching figure drawing, artistic anatomy and landscape painting. He is the author of five instructional books on the use of pastels, acrylics and charcoal.
